CEO – Chief Everything Officer

What can I say – I like to do it all. At the end of the day I’m a wife, mom, caretaker for my dad, homeschool teacher, chef, podcaster, blogger, Taekwondo student, business owner, professional project manger. I wear a lot of hats, but at the core of it all is a desire to create functional processes with a human-centered design approach.

My life revolves around my home. My wonderful husband’s name is Terry and we have 2 kiddos – Madison and Cole. We were given the opportunity to homeschool at the beginning of COVID when schools shut down in-person education. We tried to assimilate back into the classroom and for several reasons that was a bust for us – so we brought them back home again. I also manage a few rental properties for our family, craft (think crocheting, knitting, making earrings), my family is involved in taekwondo and jiu jitsu, and I’m the primary caretaker for my dad.

Professionally speaking, I am a high performing professional skilled in taking the frustration and confusion out of planning and delivering large, complex projects. My holistic approach to delivery is not about checking boxes, but rather ensuring that all stakeholders realize value from the process and the outcomes. My experiential approach cultivates high performing teams, empowering them to adapt and scale my approach on future projects.

Over the past twenty years I have led multi-year, multi-million dollar government contracts, large commercial value analysis and quality improvement projects, technology implementations, and the grassroots, award-winning Mad Park 5K in Charlotte, NC.

My approach to managing any project is to keep it simple, keep stakeholders informed, and show results. I take a holistic approach to project design, planning and execution no matter the project size or scope. Sure, we can check all the boxes, but if we do it at the expense of team morale or an organization’s bottom line then we aren’t truly successful. Time and time again, I have led projects to deliver on time and within budget, while exceeding goals and motivating and growing the team.

I have cultivated a wealth of experience over the past two decades by mentoring and coaching high performing teams and driving strategic project delivery for various organizations including: Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, Premier Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: PINC), Madison Park 5K, HealthVerity, Mavendog, and Empower Taekwondo.

My breadth of experience encompasses developing electronic health records (EHRs) frameworks and architecture, software implementation and training, proposal management and writing, meeting planning and facilitation, coaching high performing teams, quality improvement, program and project management, strategic partnerships, and contract management.

I have the honor of having been recognized by multiple organizations for my leadership of the Premier Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) where I managed a team of 28 employees and contractors plus 17 subcontractors to deliver on the statement of work for 500 hospitals across the United States. The Premier HIIN was one of 16 HIINs contracted with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to further the work of the Hospital Engagement Networks (HENs) by reducing preventable patient harm by 20% and reducing 30-day all-cause readmissions by 12%. At the conclusion of the HIIN contract, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) calculated HIINs had worked with 4,000 hospitals nationwide to produce a 13% reduction in hospital-acquired infections, prevent 20,500 hospital deaths, and save $7.7 billion in healthcare-associated savings from 2014-2017. Under my leadership and guidance the Premier HIIN was ranked #2 out of 16 HIINs in meeting program performance goals.

I earned my MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from the University of Phoenix. My Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management was earned through Western Carolina University. I held my Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential from 2002 – 2018 through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). I am Lean Healthcare Certified through N.C. State University and am a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
